CRM & Commerce · SalesforceCustom integration — assessment required

Join CRM ownership with field execution.

Assess how approved Salesforce accounts or leads could become field assignments, and whether selected visit outcomes should return to the CRM. A ready-made Salesforce connector is not verified.

Record ownership and direction are defined below. No universal two-way sync is implied.

The operational need

Why connect these systems?

Field visits need a stable link to the account owner.

Lead conversion can create duplicate customer identities.

CRM stages should not change merely because a visit occurred.

Direction, ownership, prerequisites

What data can be exchanged?

Each row is a separate scope decision. Supported workflows still require configuration; proposed records require assessment and implementation.

Connection design

How the connection works

Salesforce provides REST interfaces. The assessment must identify object permissions, custom fields and the account’s API access. Choose polling or an event approach only after reviewing available interfaces and operating requirements.

Illustrative working scenario

From system context to a useful next action.

An approved account is assigned to a representative. The representative records a visit outcome in SalesTOS. An agreed activity summary could return to Salesforce while opportunity ownership stays with the CRM team.

What happens to writeback?

A proposed activity handoff does not automatically convert leads, move opportunities or overwrite account ownership.

Before implementation

Setup requirements

  1. Salesforce edition and API access
  2. Objects, custom fields and permission scope
  3. Lead-conversion and account-matching examples
  4. Sandbox and CRM administrator

Use an authorised setup process for credentials. The enquiry form does not request passwords or API secrets.

Operating the agreed scope

Reliability & access

Specify record identifiers across lead conversion, activity deduplication and failed-write review. These are proposed acceptance controls; there is no verified Salesforce sync service to activate today.

Questions, answered.

Salesforce integration

Will visits move opportunity stages?

Only if a separate, approved workflow is implemented. It is not a default behaviour.

How do converted leads stay linked?

The assessment must define the transition from lead identifiers to account/contact identifiers.

Can custom objects be used?

They require object-specific mapping and access review.

Will existing ownership change?

The proposed scope should preserve Salesforce ownership unless an explicit rule is agreed.

What should we prepare for a Salesforce discussion?

Salesforce edition and API access; Objects, custom fields and permission scope; Lead-conversion and account-matching examples; Sandbox and CRM administrator. Share redacted examples through an agreed channel, never passwords or API secrets in the public form.

How is Salesforce integration scope confirmed?

Review the objects and prerequisites on this page, then agree mapping, access, refresh timing and acceptance criteria. A proposed activity handoff does not automatically convert leads, move opportunities or overwrite account ownership.
